How To Improvise Online
For years improv, with few exceptions, was performed almost exclusively in-person.
How times have changed.
For those of you who are new to improv, or new to doing improv online, here are some tips:
Montreal Improv workshops and shows take place via Zoom, which is entirely free. (Many other improv companies use Google Hangouts, which is also free.)
Improvising over Zoom is best done using a laptop, desktop computer or (less ideally) a next-gen tablet. Technically you can use a phone, although it may/often does limit your ability to participate.
A microphone is required. Your device may have this built-in already.
Headphones are ideal, since they allow you to hear a bit better.
You’ll want a private space where you won’t be distrubed - and won’t feel self-concious!
