The story of Rumpelstiltskin meets political intrigue in a concert version of a musical so new that it’s not even “new” yet.
This 65-minute theatrical concert featuring eight singers and piano accompaniment showcases the songs of Purplestiltskin, an original in-progress musical.
Purplestiltskin is a total transformation of the story of Rumpelstiltskin, one of the most confusing fairy tales ever told. In this new version, Olivia Mueller’s near-death and rapid but unwanted rise to the throne of Rockton -- thanks to her deals with a mysterious imp man -- take place with a backdrop of political turmoil, revolution, and the impending collapse of the monarchy. The imp (with his own ambitions and rivals back in Imp City) is therefore not the only one who would like to steal Olivia’s newborn baby.
