The Living Room
Ready to take your improv to the next level? If you love the structure of premise-based improv or the freeform storytelling of the Armando style, the Living Room format is your next challenge.
In this advanced class, you'll step into the shoes of a team that’s “just hanging out” in a living room. You'll share personal stories, opinions, and experiences as if you’re all friends catching up on the couch. These casual conversations then inspire the creation of a premise-based improv set, combining the magic of real-life storytelling with the unpredictability of improv.
The Living Room format blends storytelling, troupe collaboration, and a game-of-the-scene style of improv. It’s a perfect way to explore the subtleties of group dynamics, build stronger ensemble connections, and master the balance between structure and spontaneity. This class is as fun as it is challenging, offering both the opportunity to push your improv skills and to dive deep into the heart of collaborative, character-driven scenes.
