Looking for a way to create specific, full and complex characters within seconds of starting the scene?Ê This class will examine how to create original characters through exploration of their physical, vocal and emotional qualities that differ or are exaggerated from the creatorÕs own qualities.Ê We will explore physicality pulling from Laban Movement exercises, as well as working from imitation, instinct, and visual triggers. And since a characterÕs soul comes through their voice, this class will examine vocal rhythms, ranges and ticks.
The workshop will start by finding physical and vocal characters and then we will focus on making these characters emotional, by knowing what they want, from who, and how, in every moment.Ê Whether it be, ÒI am hungry, I want his ham sandwich,Ó or ÒI love him, and I want him to propose to me.Ó
